Congratulations to
all our wrestlers who completed at the Kids State Championships this year. The
Midget age group placed 2nd and the entire team finished 4th
overall. Not bad for a rebuilding year!

Congratulations to the middle school team for their
victory at the Union Grove Middle School tournament on December 2, 2006. The
team was an unexpected back to back team champion of this very competitive
Middle School tournament. Pope had six place winners including four in the
finals. |

The Pope Jr Wrestling Team won the All Ages Team
trophy at the Harrison Tournament on November 18, 2006. This was the first event
of the year for the young Pope team. Best of all, many first year wrestlers won
their first matches and received their first medals. |

Pope's pre-season training camp will begin August 28
at 6:30 - 7:30 pm on the Pope High track. Training will be held Monday -
Thursday until October 19. Participants should bring running shoes and water
bottle. |

Congratulations to all our wrestlers who completed at the Big
Kids State Championships held at Cherokee High School on March 4. Our Schoolboy
team won their age division title with ten state placers and we tied for second
in All Ages combined.

showing at the Little Kids State Tournament on February 25 at Parkview High.
Billy Meek received his first state title at the Midget 95 lbs weight
class. Tyler Haskin placed 4th at Midget 70 lbs. |

Congratulations to the team for qualifying 30 wrestlers for the upcoming state
tournament. Thirty-four of our 35 participants received medals! This is a team
record. |

Congratulations to the the Middle School Dual Team
for winning the inaugural Georgia Middle School Dual Team Championship on
February 4. The team won all three matches.

Congratulations to the middle
school dual team for winning the Pigeon Forge Middle School Dual Tournament
hosted by Pigeon Forge High School in Tennessee on January 21, 2006. The team
went undefeated (5-0) on their route to the championship. |

by Pope High School on January 7, 2006.

Congratulations to the middle school dual team for their
third place finish at the Collins Hill Middle Mania Duals on December 30,
2005. The team went 4-1 with a close loss to this year's rival Jefferson. |

Congratulations to the middle school team for their victory
at the Union Grove Middle School tournament on December 4, 2005. The team had
12 place winners including 10 in the finals as they edged out last year's
champion Jefferson. Pope was last year's runner-up so this was a great victory
for our guys. |
